Where are the fans? General | 02 Jul 2009 | Posted by: JediJen Where are all the Star Wars fans these days? We know they're still out there, but does this mean they have left the online world just because there's not another movie coming out? It has to be the most annoying thing about a fansite, they are only the most busy and interesting when there's an upcoming movie. Is it just me or does that seem just completely wrong? I have to tell you, Star Wars will never die. We still have more Cartoons to look forward to, the Tv Series, Video Games, Collectibles, and much more. So where are you all hiding? TheForce.net? I love that place, but we were once almost as busy as them. It just took more people and more fans. Why not join our forums to connect with other fans and help us make it what it used to be? I am also looking for more help with News posting and a talented artist to take over doing the Wallpaper Calendars each month. If you are interested in any of these jobs, please email me! I'm also hoping to get the new layout up sometime this month. I really want to have a fresh new look for the Summer! May the force be with us! |

10 Years of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace General | 29 May 2009 | Posted by: JediJen As from RottenTomatoes.com... "Ten years ago this month, excitement reached fever pitch ahead of the release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. After 16 years without a Star Wars film in cinemas, an entire generation got ready to experience the magic of George Lucas' space opera on the big screen. We all remember our reaction when the film finally unspooled. Though the film set box office records and managed to stay fresh in the eyes of critics, fan reaction was generally pretty cool. Plenty of criticism was leveled at the film's new foibles, not least Ahmed Best's Jar-Jar Binks, who managed to offend even the staunchest of Ewok apologists. Indeed, we seem to gloss over the popularity of the character with the under-10s who spent as much allowance as they could muster on various pieces of merchandise emblazoned with the Gungan's stupid face. But while most of us remember how we felt after we saw the movie, how familiar are we with the levels of excitement we felt before? Journalist and Star Wars fan Scott Andrews presents a timeline of anticipation for Episode I." Full Story. |

The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes Video Games | 11 May 2009 | Posted by: JeremySolo Looks like some of the recent rumors were true regarding a new Clone Wars video game being on the way. EW.com got the exclusive first trailer along with some new details. What jumped out at me was that Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes looks to be coming to the X-Box 360, PS3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and possibly more systems. Original rumors had the new game only making it to the PS3 and 360. From EW.com: "Star Wars: The Clone Wars -- Republic Heroes takes place between seasons 1 and 2 of the animated Clone Wars series and will feature a wide range of playable heroes, including Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Mace Windu, Kit Fisto, and some of the clone trooper characters. You'll be able to play around with lots of force-enhanced powers and, best of all, work your way through the game cooperatively with a friend. It won't go on sale until September 15, but LucasArts gave us an exclusive look at the first trailer for the game." Check out the trailer and keep an eye out at the official, www.clonewarsgame.com, for future details! |

Why 'Star Wars' fans will love new 'Trek' General | 23 Apr 2009 | Posted by: JediJen By most standards, I am considered something of a Star Wars die-hard, and my record of franchise loyalty - including home-made Jedi robes worn in high school, choreographed light saber battles, full-scale cardboard stand-ups of Boba Fett in the bedroom, and ownership of most every Star Wars novel, comic book, and video game released up until 2004 - proudly affirms this reputation. Yet something about the upcoming Star Trek reboot has really tickled my Wookie... Full Story. Warning: Some negativity towards the Prequels. |

No "Clone Wars" Paperback Books | 21 Apr 2009 | Posted by: JeremySolo According to Sue Rostoni at the SW.com boards, there are no current plans to bring Karen Traviss' novelization of The Clone Wars film to paperback. Sorry if you had been waiting for a cheaper version to pick up. See below: "The Clone Wars novelization was originally slated as a trade paperback (as the other Clone Wars novels) and Del Rey decided to change it to a hardcover somewhere along the way. I'm not certain why they decided not to follow it with a paperback, unless the sales figures were low and, with the economy at this low point, felt that a paperback wouldn't pay for itself. But I'm just guessing...." Source: ClubJade.net |

Old enough to watch Star Wars? General | 15 Apr 2009 | Posted by: JediJen When are kids old enough to watch Star Wars? The highlight of my 4-year-old son's recent trip to Disneyland was the glimpse of a Star Wars movie he caught in a gift shop in Tomorrowland. He stood in awe of a lightsaber fight between Darth Vader and Obi-Wan Kenobi--and then "mean mommy" pulled him away... I don't know about you, but I think that 4 is way too young. As a child I too only saw bits and pieces of Star Wars. I was much older than 4 when I finally saw A New Hope, although I don't quite remember when that was. There are definitely upsetting and intense scenes in the film, as well as violence that I don't think young kids should be exposed to. Don't forget about some of the sexuality in the prequel episodes either ;) So, what do you think? Is 4 too young? What age would you recommend? Read the Full Story |

Star Wars Musical Journey General | 13 Apr 2009 | Posted by: JediJen If you think the world doesn't need another variation on "Star Wars" on top of the six films, assorted animations, video games and toys, you are forgetting the extraordinary force of the music John Williams wrote for the science-fiction epic. "Star Wars: A Musical Journey," which was presented Friday at London's 02 Arena for the first time, features two hours of the wonderfully varied themes and cues that Williams has rearranged to accompany a series of sequences from the six moves especially edited for the production by Lucasfilm.
