Everything I Learned in Life, I’ve Learned from PotC

· Not everything is silver & gold, mate
· It’s such a pretty ship, not a boat
· The rules are really more like guidelines
· Wait for the opportune moment…just be careful not to miss it
· A dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest
· It’s the honest ones you have to watch out for because you never know when they’re going to do something incredibly stupid
· Take what you can and give nothing back!
· Never forget that he’s Captain Jack Sparrow
· No matter how long you call him, the dog with the keys is never going to come
· Sticks and stones, love…you save their life, their entitled to save yours
· Practicing skills 3 hours a day really pays off
· Or it can be used to woo the girl you fancy
· Nothing hurts more than wearing a corset
· You can get your fiancé to do anything for you, as a wedding present
· You can’t always trust a pirate
· Just when you thought ghost stories aren’t real…
· It’s remarkable how often brilliance and madness coincide
· When stranded on an island, rope two sea turtles together from the hair on your back
· Figure that “Wind in the Sail!” means “yes” from a pirate’s parrot
· Stealing is borrowing…without permission
· Rum is a despicable drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels
· Trust the pirate who hasn’t committed mutiny
· A good name for sons is their father’s name…it’s good, strong, and can be the very ticket to getting help from that difficult scoundrel
· When worse comes to worse, stick to the code
· If you’re the governor’s daughter, you’re bound to get kidnapped eventually…after all, you’re the governor’s daughter!
· Wooden eyes splinter terribly
· There’s always a faster ship in the sea…even if it’s cursed
· There are no heroes amongst thieves
· “Disinclined to acquiesce to your request,” simply means no
· A ship isn’t just a keel and a hull and a deck and sails; that's what a ship needs but what it really is, is freedom
· Think twice before crossing blades with a pirate
· The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can't do
· You don’t steal a ship…you commandeer it
· Everyone is a man of their word, somehow or another
· The girl is always right, and there will be no living with her if she one-ups you
· You will one day reach a special place…spiritually, ecumenically, and grammatically
· Always know you’re place
· Be assertive, and don’t let anyone use you as their leverage
· If you’re not a pirate, then obviously the codes don’t apply
· There’s no use killing someone who can’t die
· He might be the worst person you’ve ever heard of him, BUT you have heard of him
· Name pets after previous captains, etc you marooned
· If no survivors are left, then how are the stories told accurate?
· Blame the French for coming up with parley
· Just because she slapped you doesn’t mean you deserved it
· Unless you’re willing to die on a rescue mission, don’t go through with it
· An escape from a deserted island may not always be heroic and courageous
· Lying about your name could lead to confusion and nasty situations
· To distract your father and fiancé from your friends escaping from his death, faint
· Don’t hurt anyone under the code of parley
· Watch out for demon monkeys
· Drinks all around at weddings!
· A good decision made for the wrong reasons may turn out to be a wrong decision
