Overall Rating: 10 out of 10

As you can see I gave this a 10 out of 10 rating because it deserves just that, and even more actually. I can not even explain how much I love this movie! I haven't watched the same movie every single day in a long time, and I've been doing just that with this one. When a film like this has extraordinary characters with great character development, a wonderful story, beautiful costumes, and brilliant as well as memorable lines, etc it's simply just unforgettable. Currently this film is on my Top 10 Movies list, so that should show just how much I could love it. I encourage everyone to see this film, it's a great piece of Action/Drama/Adventure.

There are certain scenes in the first fourty minutes or so that are very depressing. Well, for me at least, but I'm pretty sure most people will think so. I just get so involved and so close to the characters and what's going on in a film like this. Terrible, and unexpected things happen to Edmond Dantes (played by James Caviezel), who'm I might add is very handsome and also the main character of the film. Fernand Mondego (played by Guy Peirce) who'm he thought was his trusted and true friend betrays him and marries his love, Mercedès (played by Dagmara Dominczyk). I'll say right now that the actors do such a tremendous job. They get major props from me. The 'bad guys' were able to give their characters the villainy they needed for us, as the viewers, to be able to hate them so much. I was almost unable to control myself, lol. Edmond Dantes will be everyone's favorite. There is no perfect way to describe him. You'll find him utterly fascinating, I guarantee it.

The film is based on Edmond Dantes' life, and his revenge for the life that his enemies stole from him. And he surely does get it. For thirteen years he remained in the dreaful place called Chateau D'if (where we'll meet two great actors, Richard Harris who plays Abbé Faria, and Michael Wincott who plays Armand Dorleac, the Chateau D'if Warden) and everywhere else you can imagine after he escapes. Sixteen years he was seperated from all he once had, and most importantly..Mercedès. He changes drastically throughout the film. Once he becomes a Count you will be astonished. It's hard to believe he was the same man we were introduced to in the beginning.

This is the absolute hardest review I have ever written. I actually had to stop myself after a while because I started writing the story, and I said "Wait, this is a review, I'm not supposed to be telling the story!". When I think of what to write, there are a million things going on inside my head, so apparently it's going to be hard to get out. I'll just say that this is a movie you'll be able to enjoy very much, and one that you can watch over and over and never get sick of. You'll remember the story, and the powerful characters. You'll have lines from the movie stuck in your head, and you might just cry, maybe more than once.

I find that there is nothing negative I could possibly say about this film. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it. See? No, you don't, and you won't understand until you go see it. So stop hanging around here and go watch it!
